Urban Roof Terrace Shoreditch

Client Brief

The client wanted to enliven their front and rear roof terrace areas in this urban location, with a smart and welcoming entrance way and planting to enjoy when sitting outside. The space was limited and consideration towards the existing building was required.

Design & Solution

With limited space and maximum impact needed the emphasis was on sourcing suitable containers and troughs planted up with bold evergreen specimens under planted with seasonal colour to add variety and liveliness.

A selection of large fibreglaze lead colour cube containers & troughs were sourced to complement the existing material of the exterior of the building. On the front terrace, the entrance, two large cube containers were planted with standard Laurus nobilis-Bay Tree-with clipped ball head, under planted with Cyclamen. The large trough was planted with a standard Olive tree and under planted with Fench Lavender.

On the rear terrace another large trough was planted with a lovely Pittosporum tenuifolium and Lacecap Hydrangeas. The two Fibreglaze lead Milan pots were planted up with Phormium 'Golden Ray and Cordyline Australis 'Red Star' to give a touch of exotic excitement.
